A calm, clean, beautiful spot for a relaxing getaway, close to Gyeongju World Resort.

The owner seems pleasant, but I can’t recommend staying here. The facilities are in poor shape and the price feels far too high for what you get. The deck was rusty and creaked, the ceiling showed water leak marks, and the cutlery holder was dirty. There were dozens of moths in the bathroom, and the whirlpool tub smelled bad from poor cleaning. When switched on, it sent debris into the water. The extra charge was 15,000 won per person, but the only bedding they brought from storage was a worn blanket strongly smelling of naphthalene and a very thin sheet-like blanket. There was thick dust on top of the fridge. In the bubble wrap on the window, which looked like it had been put up for winter, insects had laid eggs; pupae were visible inside the air pockets. I turned the refrigerator on just before checking in, and it had no cold air at all. It took two days for everything I’d brought to thaw and then freeze again. The weather was rainy and chilly, but there was no heating. When I asked for it, they questioned why I needed it when it was so hot. The next day, a man checked and said the boiler was broken, so heating wasn’t possible. I can’t believe a room and service in this condition cost about 300,000 won a day.

The electric blanket made the bed warm, and by the time I came back that night the floor had warmed slightly too. But the room was freezing when I first arrived. I tried the boiler and it wouldn’t start, so I called and was told it was central heating and would warm up if I waited. Even after that, cold air came through the window frames and front door so badly that my head felt frozen while I slept. T_T

The building felt poorly maintained in several ways. The wooden veranda was badly damaged and unsafe to step on, and its lock was broken. There were dead cockroaches under the kitchen table, signs of insects caught in the room, and exposed electrical wires on the way upstairs. The bathroom smelled, the bedding had a slight odor, and there was barely any lighting.

It costs a little less than other pensions, but the place wasn’t clean and the blankets smelled of naphthalene.
