Golden Planet Hotel & Resort

The metal doors in every alley slam so loudly that I wake up whenever someone opens one. And the mattress is the worst I've ever had to sleep on. It's extremely hard and unlike any other mattress I've tried, even though I travel a lot and have stayed in hundreds of hotels.

I had a comfortable stay, and the staff kindly helped when my toilet clogged. Late at night, I borrowed a wine opener and they brought it to my room. The front desk is staffed roughly from noon to 9:00 PM; for other help, there's a kiosk or intercom. Deliveries, like Japan's Uber Eats, are common. Part of the building is more like a hotel, so keep in mind there are residents. It's about a 10-minute walk from Icheon Bus Terminal, with a shortcut through Anheung Park. The downtown area is near the terminal, too. Seven-Eleven, CU, and GS25 are nearby, and Lotte Mart Icheon is around a 10-minute walk away. It's open until 11:00 PM and closed Sundays, so you can get what you need there. Thanks for the hospitality. I'm writing this since there aren't many reviews from Japanese visitors.

This is more of a hostel, so don't expect breakfast at the hotel. There are several shops next door with breakfast basics, and they're open 24 hours. The rooms are clean, with a washing machine and kitchen in the room. Room service comes every two days.

It's a decent place to stay, more like an upscale motel than a hotel. Check-in and checkout are unmanned. The manager sometimes gets in touch, but isn't especially friendly. Vouchers for Seolbong Hot Springs and Tom N Toms Cafe seem to help justify the price, though it still feels a little expensive.
