Le IDEA Hotel Busan Station

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable. It's also close to Busan Station, which made the stay somewhat tolerable. But the toilet area smelled awful, the seat had smears on it, and the floors were dirty, with clumps of hair in the corners. The shower setup was awkward, right over the bathroom sink. We were only there one night and put up with it, but the cleanliness was a thumbs down. I'd have rather paid more for somewhere sanitary.

Both rooms we were shown were awful. The first had no hot water, webs and dust on the lamps, mold all over the bathroom window, and a dirty tub. After we called to complain, they moved us, but the next room was just as bad: still no hot water, mold on the walls, cracked tiles, wall stains, and trash stuffed under the sink. There were mosquitoes all over the room too. I can't understand how this place has a four-star rating. Absolute garbage.

The rooms were bigger than I expected and clean, though one had mosquitoes and spray cans to deal with them. The lobby is small and you get to it through a parking garage. It's around a 5 to 10 minute walk from Busan train station, alongside the tracks. The street has small eateries, parking garages, and hotels.

Being near Busan train station is the one good thing about this hotel. The room wasn't clean and left me itchy. Nobody was at reception at night or during the gap around noon, so we ended up pushing our luggage around until check-in at 4pm. If you're thinking of arriving at midnight, think twice. The lobby is unlit, and walking back alone feels too dark.
