The Time Hotel

The room was about a 7-minute walk from the train station, around 50 minutes from central Seoul and 10 minutes from the airport. It was roomy, modern, clean, and very comfortable, with nice equipment and everything handled digitally. I was really happy with it. Thanks!

I came to the Incheon area for a concert, and this was my first trip to Korea. The room was spotless, quiet, well soundproofed, and fairly priced. There were shops and a convenience store within walking distance, and the self check-in was quick. It came with most of what I needed: a hair dryer and straightener, kettle, microwave, induction cooker, dishwasher, LG laundry styler, floor heater, toiletries, detergent, and towels. There were lots of outlets, though the one by the bed was in a pretty illogical spot. The owner also arranged the standing fan I asked for. The fire alarm went off at about 2 AM and was extremely loud. The announcement was only in Korean, which I couldn’t understand, and as a solo traveler I panicked. There’s no desk or lobby for help, just a Korean phone number for the owner. Since I had a data-only SIM, I could only contact him through Agoda. He said the alarm could be triggered by smoking in the room or cooking without the hood on. I’m sure I turned the hood on when I made ramen at 11 PM, so the alarm at 2 AM was really strange. With two suitcases in winter, the walk from Unseo Station felt very long in the cold and on snowy, slippery paths. It took me 20 minutes. In normal weather the location is okay. It’d be better to have a Korean phone number here in case you need to reach the owner quickly.

For a stay before a flight from Incheon Airport, Terminal 1, this was a good option. The hotel is new and clean, and I’ve paid more for much worse rooms in Korea. There’s a full-size fridge with freezer, microwave, washing machine, foldable drying rack, stove, frying pan, and the kitchen utensils you need. They also provide two toothbrushes and toothpaste, and there’s a vacuum in the closet. The room was bright and excellent overall. My one gripe was the bedside outlet: only a Euro socket was reachable, so I had to move the bed to get to regular outlets. It’d be much nicer to charge my phone and laptop while lying in bed.

Handy location near the airport and cafes, and the hotel itself is nice.
