Cheong pung Resort

The location is nice, and I liked the room. But the hallways and some other parts of the hotel had the feel of a much cheaper place. With the high price, that brought my rating down. There are swimming pools and walking trails in the area. I visited during high season, which may explain some of the cost, but I would rate it higher if it were a little cheaper.

The rooms are neat and nice, and the bathroom is okay. The shampoo and conditioner weren't very good for my hair, and there were MANY bugs in the room even though we were on floor 8. The food was okay. Not perfect, but still satisfactory.

The front desk staff at Cheong Pung Resort Lake side were incredibly hospitable. They gave us a fruit plate even after we'd transferred to another hotel, which earned them five stars from me. We originally wanted to stay at the lake side, but all the lake view rooms were already occupied, so the staff offered us a room at the Hillside hotel instead. It's not far away, and the view from there is still very nice, but I would have preferred the lake side. Maybe next time, after the rooms have been renovated. The lake view is amazing, but the rooms and toilet are very dated and badly need renovation. We couldn't stomach the toilet in the room we were given. The lobby seems to have been renovated, and Cafe Edelia is new. We last visited in 2017, when there was a convenience store where the coffee shop is now. I think that's a nice upgrade and makes the place cozier. In my opinion, a convenience shop doesn't belong at or near the main lobby.

I stayed here on 30/4/2023, and the service was super lousy. It's far from town, and there's no air conditioning, even though the weather drops at night. Who would want to sleep with the balcony open? It left my room feeling stuffy. Super bad.
