Shin Shin Hotel Jeju Ocean

The location was pretty good, and there’s a 7-11 on the first floor. We stayed four days and three nights. The room was spacious and had a partial sea view, but it was dirty and the sheets were stained. We requested room cleaning for one day, but it never happened. The service wasn’t great either, we had to ask for things more than once. At check-in, I was told I had booked three rooms instead of two, and it took a long time to sort out. Hopefully things improve.

We paid a fair price for what we got. The suite was very spacious, with a sink, fridge with freezer, and washing machine. There’s a 711 right next door, and a microwave at reception. Breakfast was okay: rice, soup, Korean ban chan, yogurt, milk and cereal, bread, and coffee. Tea and instant coffee were in the room, but we had to ask for cups. The building is old and needs renovation, and the cleaning could be more thorough. We found an eyeliner under the couch.

The room was big, like a studio apartment, and had a washing machine. The location is great, though it’s on the other side of the island from the airport. Getting there by express bus took over an hour.

The sheets smelled, the slippers were damaged, and the room reeked of cigarettes. Poor toilet ventilation or plumbing made the whole area smell worse than a public toilet. I asked for a room change or help, but nothing much was done to fix it. The place felt unsanitary, so I left for another hotel even though I’d booked two nights.
