Aimi Jeju Beach Hotel Hamdeok W

The location is superb, right across the street from the ocean, and the views from an ocean-view room are fantastic. But the hotel feels dated and needs a remodel. The toilet is far away from the shower and tub, there’s no bidet, and the mirrors are placed oddly. The bed was awful, especially the mattress. It bounced a lot, I could feel the springs under my back, and it sloped. We went to the front desk, but all they could offer was a makeshift mattress. I woke up with terrible back pain. Stay here for the location and views, but if you want a good night’s sleep with a view, try one of the other hotels down the street.

The room was good, but there weren’t any real amenities. The chlorine smell was strong, and the setup with two hotels in one building felt strange.

There was no tea or coffee in the room, which seemed odd, and housekeeping came in even though I had put up a do-not-disturb sign. The layout was a little strange but worked. I had a side-view sea room with a nice view, though the balcony was dirty, the chairs had no cushions, and there was no table. There are two different hotels in the same building, and the room next to mine belonged to a completely different one. The front desk was basically nonexistent. Check-in was self-service, and when I arrived early nobody was there. Early check-in isn’t possible, so don’t bother asking.

We had a good stay overall, with smooth check-in and checkout and helpful service when we needed it. The rooms were clean and covered our basic needs. The parking lot is a three-minute walk from the hotel, so keep that in mind if walking is difficult. There’s no laundry service, so we walked a few minutes to a very good but pricey laundry place, about $10. Staff did go into our room despite the do-not-disturb sign. Nothing was taken, but we didn’t expect anyone to enter.
