Benikea Hotel Jeju

The ocean view gets the one star, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. Our room wasn't cleaned well and had lots of bugs, and noise from the tour buses stopping at the hotel kept us from sleeping properly.

The room was clean, but the service was poor, and it felt old. During all three nights I heard loud sounds of a chair or bed being moved, especially at night. They didn't replace the soap or bathing gauze, and I think they didn't replace the towel either. The pillowcases and towels were extremely old and even had holes in them. I wasn't satisfied.

The room really wasn't nice, and calling the breakfast "breakfast" is a stretch. It was unbelievably poor, especially for 18 bucks. We got half our money back and moved to another hotel the next night, even though we still lost money. Avoid it if you have any sense.

The noise was the worst part. I heard it through the walls and from above and below, especially guests walking around upstairs late at night. The room seemed to carry every sound. I couldn't sleep, so I asked to move rooms for the second night. They switched me and promised it would be quieter, but the second night was even worse, with noise from above and both sides. I called the front desk for help, but they couldn't do much. At 6 a.m., still awake, I packed up and left. I hated my stay and won't return to this hotel or any of their BENIKEA branches. If you're reading this, I'd suggest doing the same. BENIKEA supposedly means "best night in korea," but after this, I think they should rename it WONIKEA. The shower head was broken and sprayed water everywhere. Some shower tiles were missing or broken, the drain was clogged and flooded the whole bathroom, and the walls had strange stains. There were spider webs around the air conditioner.
