The evening makgeolli gathering was a real highlight: they served makgeolli with tasty snacks, and I enjoyed sitting around chatting. The Sarangbang lounge is comfy and full of books, and breakfast came with delicious spam rice balls plus a drink or soup. The owner and staff were incredibly kind, and the place felt clean and cozy. Still, the schedule was a big drawback. Check-out is at 10:00 AM and check-in isn't until 5:00 PM, the longest gap I've seen among Jeju guesthouses. Even if you're staying several nights, you have to leave during those hours. It was inconvenient enough to make me unsure about booking again. The toilet and shower share one space, which I can understand, but I don't think I could use the bathroom while several people are showering at once.

Dinner was a treat, especially the makgeolli and jeon. The room was clean and nice, and the owner and staff were so warm that I felt at ease all night. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Jeju again.

This place feels like a little reset. I always make sure to spend at least one night here when I visit Jeju, and I've been doing that for nearly five years. Definitely recommend it.
