Ramada Jeju Hamdeok

The rooms get stuffy, and the AC doesn’t work because, as we were told, the whole hotel has heating on instead. The staff seemed unhappy to have guests and didn’t even smile when greeting us. Ramada’s expected standards clearly aren’t being maintained for a four-star hotel. Looking at other reviews, it seems this has been going on for a while, with no intention to change. A motel would offer better service.

You can check yourself in and out, and there’s a self-scan desk at the CU in the lobby for convenience.

It’s a calm, quiet spot, though a bit away from the main part of town. The sea is about a five-minute walk away, and the rooms are spacious, with a lovely balcony and sea view. Those rooms face the main street, so there can be some noise. The rooms were clean enough, and the soundproofing was a little weak but still acceptable. Not a bad hotel, and I’d recommend it if you’re staying in the area.

The hotel is clean and right by the beach, but parking is limited. The restaurant wouldn’t lend us spoons, and there were no toothbrushes or iron. There was a big spider web on the balcony, and the pool was closed in the middle of summer.
