Gloucester Hotel Hamdeok

At low tide, you can wade into the clear water right across the street, and Hamdeok beach is a great location. We loved our stay in the panoramic room on the 7th floor, especially the amazing views. The beds were comfortable, and the futon area had heated floors with an extra-thick futon. It had all the amenities, though reaching the light switches was inconvenient: they were behind the bathroom sliding door, which had to be shut to switch the lights on or off. The hallways were pretty run-down. The buffet offered a lot of variety but was just okay. Unlike other reviewers, we didn't get any vouchers for Americanos.

Parking was free and easy, and the place is right by the beach and near restaurants. The bed was very comfortable too. The staff member who checked us in was efficient and spoke English well. Our only issue was that they provided just one free breakfast for each room, even though we'd booked for two people in each room. Still, it's a nice place to stay.

The location right on the beach was great, and the room was nice. Housekeeping were very friendly. They give you an Americano voucher for each night, but won't even add a dash of milk to the coffee. Being so stingy with milk felt a little awkward.

The beach access is incredible, and it's hard to find a better spot for that. There's a convenience store in the building, American-style restaurants a minute or two away on foot, and coffee shops, including Starbucks, farther down the street. The oceanfront setting makes up for the limited amenities and the restaurant's not very diverse selection. The bed was so uncomfortable that it really took away from how much we could enjoy Jeju. I still highly recommend it.
