Witch's Broomstick

I picked this place for the Aewol location and ocean view, and the view really is worth five stars. But call after booking and ask for an upper floor. If you don't, you may be put on the first floor regardless of how many nights you stay. Outside those windows were piles of cigarette butts, and diners from the restaurant next door sometimes walked past and looked into the room. I could also hear water running upstairs, and the soundproofing was awful. With noisy upstairs guests, I ended up awake all night. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all "Flower-Holding Man." Using the hairdryer was a hassle too: I had to unplug the fridge or TV to use it in the room, or plug it into the outlet on the trash can for bathroom use. They do clean the room, but not very thoroughly. For the same price, I wonder if staying in Seogwipo or Jeju City would be better.

The view is the only reason I can give this one star. Even though I got a low price, it still felt like a waste of money. The bathroom was filthy and covered in mold, and finding dust on the towel after wiping my face with it was horrifying. They said the place had been remodeled, but it looked at least 20 years old, more like it had just been painted. The whole place felt run-down. I'd give it zero if I could.

I was really touched by how kind the staff were. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bedding was perfect. The building itself is old, but it has been remodeled and the room, balcony, bathroom, and elevator were all very clean and tidy. The view from the room was perfect too.

The view is fine, but that's about it. You could end up on the first floor if you don't book early, so ask before reserving if that would bother you. The balcony can't really be opened because there's no screen and bugs keep getting in. The bathroom wasn't very clean either, there was no TV signal, and the air conditioning didn't work.
