The place itself is really nice, with a great location, helpful information, and mostly friendly staff. The rooftop is a lovely spot to sit and relax, and catches the sun well. But a misunderstanding there turned into a huge problem during my three months in Korea, where I'd stayed at plenty of backpackers and guesthouses. I invited some Korean friends, including locals and teachers, for a drink on the roof. There was another room up there with its door wide open, and inside were two toilets, both with their doors open. Since I'd seen similar setups elsewhere, we assumed guests could use them. As my friends were leaving, they used the toilets, and a staff member appeared and went bazzzerk. She said it was her private space. I tried to explain that the doors were already wide open, but she didn't believe me. My friend started to leave after a few minutes, and she shouted abuse at him. He reacted, and yes, he was crass, which annoyed me. But we'd tried to explain and apologised over and over for a while, and she wouldn't listen. I kept saying sorry after my friends left, but got yelled at again, so I left. I think this is a nice place apart from that incident. Flipping heck....!!!!

It's very clean and the staff are friendly. You can easily walk to the main shopping area, and it's right next to the hanok area, though the building itself isn't a hanok.

The staff are kind, and it's very close to the central Han-ok village. The room is too small.

I had to stay here, but even though it was cheaper than other places, I'd pay a little extra for another guesthouse. I was in the second-floor guesthouse and there was no key to lock my room. They didn't give me a front door key either, and told me not to lock the door. If I wanted to lock it, they said I could shut it behind me and open it with a coin. Anyone can do that, so what's the point? There were no lockers, and I couldn't see any CCTV, so I doubt they'd be able to track valuables if something went missing. They say it's safe, but I figured maybe that was only because there hadn't been a theft yet. I felt uneasy even while sleeping. The shared fridge had a stale, musty smell, the shower head was broken so I had to turn and use it as a fixed shower, and checkout was early. The location is the one plus: it's right next to Gyeonggijeon, convenient for walking around near Hanok Village.
