Asia Lakeside Hotel

There are lovely walking paths and beautiful views, with a small zoo just across the street. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Downtown is about a 10-minute cab ride away.

The lake and the mountains around it made a beautiful view from our room. The scenery felt almost like a painting, with the mountains spread out behind the water like folding screens. The air was fresh, too. My three sisters and I arrived at Asia Lakeside Hotel at night and went to bed without seeing any of this. We opened the window in the morning and were all amazed. Of all the hotels I’ve stayed in, this one had the best view.

The room had a scenic view, and the staff were very kind. The location is nice, but the view faces a dam, and the water looked dirty. Mosquitoes were everywhere. Breakfast didn’t offer much variety for the very high price. The water felt oily, and so did the soap. I’ve learned to live with oily soap, since some people say it’s good oil, but I couldn’t deal with the oily water.

We sat outside for the dinner buffet, and the view was so magnificent I could barely focus on the food. There was a huge wood-fired grill in the middle, with the cook preparing and grilling meat. It smelled mouthwatering. The spread included ribs, steak, pork, vegetables, sushi, salads, fruit, and more, plus free beer. It was cheap Korean beer, but still free. After dinner we went upstairs for cocktails. The menu is limited, and they didn’t seem willing to go beyond it. I asked for an old-fashioned and they wouldn’t make one. The hotel sits on a cliff by what I thought was the prettiest lake in Jinju. It’s a little hidden, but there’s parking. The view from the parking lot already took my breath away, and inside it was even prettier. A dark wood hallway leads to the concierge, with a country club feel. It’s a gorgeous place to relax with friends, good food, and drinks. I’ll come back.
