Victoria Motel

I’m writing my first review because I’m so angry, and there’s no exaggeration or lie in it. I was in Mokpo for a company event and called to ask about prices. They said only the 60,000 won deluxe room was available, so I booked by phone. At check-in, when I said I was on a business trip, the cashier claimed they’d sent me to the wrong room and demanded 90,000 won for it. After we argued, they tried to get me to pay 80,000 won in cash. A few hours later, a coworker who didn’t know what had happened paid 100,000 won at the counter for the same room. The place is on the entertainment and motel street in Sang-dong, across from Mokpo Peace Square. The room was dirty and humid, the air conditioner smelled bad, the bedding was stained and damp, and the towels smelled. The second floor was the worst. Getting off the elevator felt like stepping into a haunted house, and with no screens, it was a mosquito paradise. The bathroom was filthy too. Hair and bits of toilet paper came out of the whirlpool tub. It was beyond imagination.

The male manager was rude, and the way he spoke wasn’t very good. Cleanliness was poor as well, and the bathroom exhaust fan was broken. Overall, it wasn’t that great.

The ondol room was clean and roomy enough for four, and the staff were friendly.

The facilities are old, and the wallpaper has a bad smell.
