It was handy having two convenience stores right across the street, and the duplex room was comfortable to sleep in. The floors hadn’t been cleaned very well, though. I’d booked mainly because there was a pool while I was at Galnam Port, then found out it wasn’t in use. They said there was a notice, but it was posted too far down for me to see, so I showed up anywayㅋㅋㅋ. I figured I should’ve read more carefully and just went to bed~~

The room setup works well for up to four people, since each room is a duplex. There’s also a small rooftop pool open until 9 PM. The place is decent and sits right across from Jangho Port, though the staff were very unfriendly.

We found a few places to eat nearby, but even over the weekend many were closed, and most of the menus were raw fish with little variety. We ended up eating at a restaurant in Jangho Yonghwa Tourist Land, which was a pleasant surprise. The Samcheok Cable Car is right across the road, though we skipped it. For our family trip, the pension worked fine for a night or so. It’s right in front of Jangho Port and about a 15-minute drive from downtown Samcheok. We had a third-floor room that was fine apart from weak Wi-Fi. It feels more like a pension than a hotel, and the parking lot is small. Toothbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo were provided, but bring a hairbrush and other essentials.

I was really upset after paying over 500,000 won for the night. We were two families of three and booked a premium room listed on Naver as having a duplex and bedroom, but the listing was wrong and the room didn’t match. When I raised it, the male host at reception said it wasn’t his fault and blamed Naver. The premium room was advertised as suitable for a family, yet it was for two people, so we were charged another 20,000 won for each of the other four. There were barely enough towels, bedding, and supplies for four people, and no instructions in the room about using the facilities. The facilities themselves were nice after the renovation.
