Hongcheon Anga Inn Pension

I was there just to sleep after visiting the ski resort, and it worked out well. I grabbed a quick beer nearby and rested without any trouble. It's about a 10-minute drive from Vivaldi. I hadn't realized there were several long, narrow buildings; Dasom Room was on the second floor. The room was so warm that the thin blanket made sense. Hot water stopped around midnight, though, and some instructions would have helped. Good value.

The barbecue terrace had a spectacular view, though it was very cold there without a windbreak or tent. Inside, the high ceilings and quiet atmosphere felt cozy, and there was plenty of parking. We stayed in Dalbodre Room on the second floor and checked in around 5 PM. The room was already very warm, so the thin winter bedding wasn't an issue. They had wine glasses and an opener, and the bathroom was spacious. The room's actual lighting was much dimmer than in the attached photos, which were taken with the lights turned up high. Warm white lights in the living room, bathroom, and bedroom made the place feel dark and stuffy. Lace curtains let in sunlight and made it easy to see outside. Being on the second floor was reassuring, but I would've felt uneasy on the first. I was also surprised to spot bugs that looked like crickets, even in winter. There's no nearby convenience store, so without a car you'd need to bring all your food. There wasn't a dressing table, and the pots and knives were pretty worn. The soundproofing was poor, and the living room sofa was smaller than I expected, so I ended up lying on the floor to watch TV. Our shoes were left outside and had frozen by checkout.

The bed was soft and comfortable, and they had plenty of towels. The room was clean and warm, the owner was very kind, and all the toiletries worked well for me: foam cleanser, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. I'll stay here again when I come to Hongcheon.

I was concerned winter might make the room cold, but it got so hot that I asked the staff to switch off the heat. They were friendly, and the price was great for what you get.
