There are no bath towels, just hand towels, as is the case at other Jeju hotels. There were three of us but they gave us only two towels, so I had to go down to reception for another. I also had to go down again for a hair dryer, and once more for a kettle to boil water. There's no room service, the bathroom leaks, and the service was very bad. The hotel doesn't have good views either. There are bars nearby, and parking can be a problem when spaces are limited during peak periods.

We paid £23 a night, and that price is the only reason this gets two stars. If you're watching your budget, you could consider it. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere. This hotel shares everything with another one in the same location, called "The First70." Every other room door just has a small sticker to show which hotel it is, and they mix up the towels too. The place feels old and worn, with damage all over: rust at the bottom of the shower partition, water-damaged wallpaper, and an extractor shroud falling from the ceiling. Facilities are bare minimum, with mugs but no spoons, and the towels were fraying with age. We may have been unlucky with a noisy upstairs neighbour banging on the floor for an hour or two in the middle of the night. It kept us awake. I also spent the night coughing, probably from black mould or dust mites in the duvet. At least the air conditioning worked.

We chose this hotel for its affordable price and because it's just a few minutes' walk from Seogwipo Olle market. There's a CU Mart downstairs in the lobby, and the building has two levels of basement parking. The hotel shares the building with Hotel the 70. Our room was spacious, with a double bed and a single bed. There's no coin laundry. The bathroom's cleanliness was the one thing I disliked. There were lots of black stains, which felt pretty gross. Still, it's an affordable option if you want a central place to stay in Seogwipo.

The olle market is only 5-10 minutes away on foot, and there's a "Nice to CU" behind reception. Both city waterfalls are within 2 KMs walking distance. The neighbourhood felt a bit iffy because of the many red light bars, though fairly safe. We stayed for two nights. The room was big, with a nice bathtub and good water pressure. We had a seaview, but depending on the room, you might look out at the city, the sea, or someone's building. Some middle rooms are noisy because of the common elevators, and some guests are quite loud. Reception staff weren't especially friendly or helpful and couldn't speak much English. There's a skypark on the 11th floor where you can watch the sunset and sunrise. Some buildings block the view, but it's good enough.

I'm on my first night of a three-night stay, with two reservations, and hope the issues get sorted out before I leave. The hotel's in a good spot, walking distance from a popular everyday market. The counter staff are helpful, though they don't speak English well, so Google Translate is useful. The pillows provided are flat. I asked for extras, but was told there'd be an additional charge, and I'm still waiting for their reply because they had run out of pillows. I also asked to change rooms because smoke from people outside is drifting up into mine. I'm on a lower floor and can't open the hotel windows to air the room out.
