OROJEJU

A fantastic view from a place that’s quiet and clean.

Danbi Lee made our stay feel easy from the start. She was attentive, polite, and ready to help with almost anything, from suggesting a grocery store for the drive from the airport to pointing out local attractions. She even lent us a huge beach rug for a comfortable outing by the sea. We stayed in a clean, comfortable second-floor studio with everything we needed, including kitchen utensils, dishes, and appliances. The sea view was magnificent, and we could hear the waves, with the water only 50 meters away. My daughter loved the grounds. Danbi Lee’s very well-behaved cats were waiting for her in the evenings when we returned from outings, and joined us for a barbecue one night. The hostess organized a lovely barbecue dinner practically on the beach. We were also given delicious cookies, which we happily ate for dessert. The area around OroJeju is so picturesque that we didn’t feel we needed to drive around the island often. With a rental car, the farthest eastern part was no more than 1 hour and 20 minutes away. Points of interest usually took 20-30 minutes to reach, and the capital and airport took 45-50 minutes. Right beside OroJeju is a unique beach, pier, port, and bathing area, described in the brochure thoughtfully left in the room. The bathing spot is built over underground springs, but the water is so cold that even the cool seawater feels warm by comparison. Hydrangeas were blooming all around in June, and there was no heat or stuffiness. The air smelled of citrus, as OroJeju is surrounded by tangerine plantations. We had a wonderful stay. We chose Oro Jeju for our first trip to Jeju as a couple in 10 years, after a close acquaintance recommended it. The accommodation was impressively clean, and then the sunset outside our window was an incredible bonus. My wife still can’t forget that sea sunset, so I feel proud that I picked Oro Jeju. Wimi is an unfamiliar part of Seogwipo City, away from the center, and turned out to be a great choice for a quiet getaway. On past Jeju trips, I’d gone to famous tourist spots and restaurants, but never felt satisfied for the price. Near this place, though, it’s practically a paradise for food lovers. The owner can also recommend places locals go. Our two-night, three-day visit was short, but Jeju’s beauty, the comfortable stay, and the owner’s warm smile and kindness all bring back gentle, happy memories, like the waves off Jeju. I’ll definitely return if I travel to Jeju again.

The clean room, lovely scenery, and the restaurants and Cheonhyehyang farm the owner introduced us to all left a strong impression. I’d choose this again if I get the chance to return. The neatly arranged dishes and crystal glasses were lovely, and so were the elegant white cat and striking leopard-print cat. I’d recommend it to couples and families.
