Romantopia

Nice view, and the breakfast cereal was good.

The place was much nicer in person than it looked in the Airbnb photos. It seems fairly new, and everything was clean, with very modern air conditioning. The interior is charming, the breakfast was tasty, and they even had tea. The sons are cute too, so go see them before they grow up too much.

The wood scent when you open the door gives the place a special feel. It has an oddly charming, restful atmosphere, and my wife and daughter really like the decor. Even as a middle-aged guy with no sense of style, I found myself thinking I’d like bedding like this. The night breeze reminded me of the Maldives, so I quietly opened the loft window, despite my wife nagging me.

I work in travel, and I usually avoid recommending places to stay to people I know. Lodging is so personal, and the same place can feel very different depending on your mood that day. Still, I don’t want my friends visiting Jeju to spend ages weighing Jungmun against Jeju City, or hotels against pensions and private villas, so I’m making an exception. #Romantopia sits among birdsong and a natural breeze. The little touches in the yard gave me a sense of healing. In the morning, I woke to dawn light and birdsong coming through the window of the second-floor deck bedroom, then had a healthy brown rice porridge breakfast. That made my Jeju trip feel much more relaxed and fulfilling. This place really feels like a hidden gem on Jeju. The three nights here with my pregnant wife were the best part of our trip, by far. I’ve never written a lodging review before, and I’m leaving this one as my first and last. P.S. I’ll come back in five years to eat the nectarines planted in the field next to the front yard.
