Residence Hotel MCC

A little deserted, but the friendly staff and nice ocean view helped. For the price, it was definitely worth it.

The bathroom had so many gnats, which I couldn't believe. The bed creaks even when you just sit on the edge, haha, and like other reviews said, the refrigerator is incredibly loud. They said the typhoon damaged the doors, so all the automatic doors have to be opened manually. The window in Room 401, supposedly the one with the best view, was also said to have been broken by the typhoon, and I couldn't open it. My husband managed to open it, but we'd booked specifically to see the sunrise. I couldn't wake him while he was sleeping in the morning, so I took a picture through the window screen instead. The male owner and the young man, whether his son or an employee, were incredibly kind. The facilities could use some security, though. I was going to give the room condition one star, but the owner's kindness brought it up to three.

On my business trip to Jeju Island, I found this budget hotel/motel. The place was clean, including the sheets, and the low bed cushions were a nice touch. It feels a bit dated, but it's very clean. There's ample parking. I checked in at night, so I can't say whether there's a parking fee, but at this price I wasn't especially concerned. If it shows up at a lower price again, I think I'll choose this place. The weather, though, made it hard to sleep. It was so windy I felt I might not be able to get back to the mainland. It rained every time I went to Hwangsanggye, and I couldn't land at Jeju Airport twice, so I had to turn back and return, which took four hours.

This was the worst place I've stayed on Jeju Island. There was a raccoon crawling around in the bathroom, and the door wouldn't close properly. The bed creaked, the bathroom had lots of mold, and the place seemed poorly maintained.
