I've been coming to Sanbangsan Hotel with my family once or twice a year. The setting is lovely, and every room has a wonderful mountain view. That scenery used to make this one of my favorite hotels, but the upkeep has slipped badly lately. The staff are friendly, and the beds are still comfortable with soft bedding. But cleaning has become poor: the floors aren't properly washed or vacuumed, and I often find hair left on the bathroom floor. Some sheets had holes, and the curtains showed visible mold, as if they hadn't been taken down to clean. The view is also hard to enjoy through the very dirty panoramic windows. There's a shared kitchen on each floor with a microwave and dishes, which is convenient, but the kitchen and hallway both smell stale. I opened the windows myself to get some air in. I used to recommend this hotel to friends and would have given it more than five stars. Now it feels closer to 2.5-3 because of its declining condition. Unless management improves the cleanliness and maintenance, I don't think I'll come back.

My room looked out over Sanbangsan, which was incredible, and I really enjoyed staying here. There's a convenience store in the lobby too. The hotel also has a karaoke room, a conference hall, and rooftop jacuzzis that I think are available to rent, though they were under maintenance when I visited.

The room was spacious, with a beautiful view of the mountain, and the service and facilities were the best I've experienced among the Jeju hotels I've tried, including Sono Calm, Ramada and Whistlelark. Staff were kind and helpful, and some could manage basic English, which makes the hotel suitable for foreigners. Cleaning happens every day, with a full clean once every three nights and a lighter room cleaning on the other days. That's better than some more expensive hotels in Jeju. There's a lobby convenience store that closes at 11 pm, and the car park is large enough that I didn't worry about finding a space at night. It's close to attractions like Lava Cliffs and Innis Free house. The one drawback is the road to the hotel gets dark at night, so remember to switch on your lights while driving.

The area around the hotel is peaceful, and the staff are friendly. My room was clean, reasonably priced, and had a clear view of Sanbangsan Mountain. Songaksan Mountain is nearby too. The location itself felt a little vague, though, and Seogwipo and Hallasan Mountain are somewhat far away.

The place is clean and comfortable, and getting around from here is convenient. I'm staying two nights before heading off. If the weather cooperates, I'd like to try the jacuzzi on the fifth floor.
