Sungsan Paradise Hill

A European-style place to stay in Jeju.

The outside bathtub isn’t included in the room price, and using it costs an extra 30,000 won. I felt tricked into coming here. The place is so run-down it’s surprising, and it seems the property isn’t being maintained. The owner came across as arrogant and stingy. There are plenty of beautiful hotels in Seongsan, so I don’t need to put myself through this.

My group all got a great night’s sleep in the very comfortable beds, so we could travel around Jeju feeling rested. I stayed in room 201 and had the whole floor to myself, which meant I didn’t have to worry about soundproofing. The owner was incredibly kind, and the rooms are lovely. There’s air conditioning in each room and in the living room, plus all the kitchenware you need for cooking, drinks, and spending time together. It’s a little out of the way, with no convenience store nearby, so come prepared and expect to stay in once you arrive.

The room had a fantastic view of Seongsan Ilchulbong, and the staff were so kind that I gave the place five stars. I had a really pleasant stay. The building and interior are pretty, and the swimming pool has a great atmosphere.
