Sunrise Hotel Seongsan

The staff were friendly and really helpful, and the location made it easy to get around. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and many great tourist spots are within walking distance. Our room was clean and roomy, with a large bathroom and hot tub. We could see Seongsan Ilchulbong from the window, though the glass was very dirty. Breakfast is available for 5,000 won, with a few basic items.

Mr. Won Jin was so friendly and helpful, and I want to thank him for that. I spent two nights here and really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, and the view, whether toward the mountain or the sea, was stunning.

The location was great, and check-in was easy. My room was clean and had no odor, though the second-floor hallway smelled a little musty. The restaurant was closed, apparently for the winter. There was also a plastic or rubber protector beneath the fitted sheet that made the bed uncomfortable. For a stay longer than one night, I would have taken it off.

It cost about $60, and for what the room offered, I didn't feel it was good value. There is a view, but I didn't stay in to enjoy it because I was there to climb Sunrise Peak. The hotel is close to Sunrise Peak, about a few minutes by car or an eight-minute walk. The room was tidy but worn in places. The mattress was just okay, and I only got two very thin pillows. There were no light switches by the bed, though the international plugs were handy. Towels weren't in the bathroom, so I had to go downstairs to ask. They supplied only face towels, no full-size bath towels. You have to buy your own toiletries for under a dollar. I don't mind that for environmental reasons and to reduce waste, but I wish they'd told me ahead of time.
