The rooms were clean and pleasant, and I appreciated that they felt modern compared with other Jeju places I stayed where damp was an issue. The apartments look to be about 10-20 years old. My one room issue was the lack of USB charging ports. I didn’t have a Korean adapter, so I couldn’t charge my phone and got more stressed, though luckily the shop sold adapters. The bigger problem was how remote it is. I arrived by bus without renting a car and didn’t realize the nearest stop was 1.5 km away. Taxis wouldn’t come for me, and on the apps they always seemed far off. The closest shop was also 1.5 km away, so a 3 km round trip. There’s a pig BBQ place around the corner, but they only serve larger portions and understandably wouldn’t sell to a solo diner. They let me borrow a bicycle, which was helpful, but it felt like an afterthought: very old, with mould on it, just a bike they had lying around. The quiet, remote setting might suit some people, but it caused me a lot of stress. When I asked to leave a day early, they wouldn’t refund me. I understand that, but it still left me a bit annoyed, especially since Booking.com had recommended the hotel and that was why I booked. Don’t stay here without a car unless you’re prepared for the distance. I learned that the hard way.

The place was cleaner than I expected, and it does a good job of blocking the wind. Getting there without a car can be a bit difficult, but the location itself is great.

He was more than just polite. Even though we had trouble communicating, I could tell the guesthouse owner was doing his best to help us, and he even ordered fried chicken for us. 👍
