The soundproofing was the one real problem. The room seemed split into two sections, and I could hear the neighbors’ whole conversation so clearly that I thought they were talking to me. If you get lucky with your neighbors, though, this place can hold its own against a five-star hotel. The welcome was lovely, with a subtle pleasant scent from the entrance to the counter. The room looked spotless at first glance, the floor was warmly heated, and the bathroom was stylish and had a bathtub. Breakfast was convenient too.

The hinoki bath was a little small, haha, but I was happy with pretty much everything else. Breakfast was tasty, too. The room was in perfect condition and smelled lovely. Burning the strong-scented sticks right in the room made for such a nice atmosphere, and I liked the water and disposable drip coffee. Hearing birds from the accommodation was lovely.

The Thai-themed decor looked nice, but staying here was uncomfortable. There were no windows that opened, so airing out the room was hard. With the bathtub right beside the bed, using it made the room extremely humid. The tiled floor also made sounds echo like they do in a bathroom, which would be great for singing. Around midnight, while we were in bed, a centipede over 10 centimeters long bit both my husband and me on our feet. We woke up startled and in pain, caught it, and were shocked by how big it was. I called the owner, who said they had never been bitten and offered no solution. I was completely baffled. I felt I couldn't sleep in that room any longer, so I checked out early in the morning. They did refund us, but the owner said to contact the booking site to cancel and not to contact the pension. I was very disappointed by what seemed like a complete lack of concern for guest safety or any plan for handling incidents like this.

I booked through Agoda and arrived to find nobody there. The management office was dusty and covered in cobwebs, with piles of discarded shoes, and all the restaurant tables and chairs were knocked over. Every accommodation door was standing open, and nobody answered the phone. I’ve never seen anything like this. What a mess. It’s not even worth one star.
