We Hotel Jeju

We had a relaxing few days at the We and really enjoyed our stay. Tak was especially helpful, keeping us updated and answering our questions. The hotel was being renovated, but it didn't inconvenience us.

We spent two lovely days at We hotel Jeju, from 22nd Sep to 24 Sep 25. It's a quiet, serene place surrounded by forest. There are signs warning about deer crossing, though thankfully we didn't see any. It's a good spot to recover from the daily grind, with a wellness centre I didn't get time to try. It's a bit out of the way, so having your own transport is preferable. There are shuttle buses to and from Jeju airport, Hoesu rotary, and Jungmun postoffice, but they run at limited times, so check the hotel website. When we arrived, a courteous concierge helped with our many bags while I parked. The spaces in front of the hotel are limited, fewer than 10 assigned spots, and they fill quickly. Some creative parking made a few more spaces, but there still weren't enough, so other guests had to use a lot farther away. That's inconvenient with lots of luggage. There's just one EV charger, tucked away in what I think is the staff carpark area, with no clear sign. You might find an EV truck charging there. I managed to charge my rental Ioniq 6 from Lotte rent a car, but the Korean text was hard to read, and it charged slowly: 68% to 90% took four hours. Mosquitoes bit me while I was charging. I told the GM about the tight, limited parking and hope the charger can be moved in front of the hotel lobby by my next visit. The lobby is spacious, with stairs up to it, but thankfully there are escalators too. Staff checked us in quickly and politely, and the concierge brought all our luggage to the room on a trolley. Rooms are on level 3 and level 5, with no second or fourth floor rooms. Level 6 is the rooftop garden, but I couldn't find access from the lobby lift. I presume it's available to people who sign up for wellness. Level 5 has the best view, with the sea in the distance and parts of the city. From our level 3 room, I could only see the surrounding forest trees. The level 5 rooms without carpet have a step between the entrance and living area, where the toilet and bathroom are, so watch your footing or you could take a nasty fall. Level 3 rooms are standard, partly carpeted, and don't have that hazard. We slept soundly, with little outside noise, and had three pillows each after asking for another set. The standard set was one hard and one soft pillow. The air conditioning was fine except in the suite. Breakfast was delicious, though the spread leaned Korean, with rice, kimchi, and some Western items like sausages, french fries, and bacon. There's an egg station and a chef-run pho station for beef noodle soup. Dinner was good too, and the salmon was tasty, juicy, and fresh, as you'd expect at a five-star hotel. I was glad to find English breakfast tea, which had been hard to come by elsewhere in Jeju. One unusual highlight was meeting GM Kang at breakfast. We thought he was a sous chef because he was in a chef's uniform, but he was serving guests and asking how the food and stay were. He listened when we mentioned planning a birthday dinner and passed along our request for menu changes because we don't eat beef. His humble, personal manner touched us. He also brought iced lemon tea to the workmen repairing the lobby porch ceiling in the hot weather. The next morning he was again checking on diners and asking for feedback. He made us feel at home, and we'll definitely return to We hotel Jeju.

I booked two rooms, one for three adults and another for two, but at check-in the staff insisted I had to pay an extra 66 thousand won for the fifth person. I showed them the booking, which listed all five people, but they said it wasn't possible and still demanded the additional payment. I'm deeply frustrated and angry about how they handled it. They kept saying I was wrong instead of trying to sort out the situation.

We loved staying here. Whenever we dealt with the staff, they were unbelievably friendly and accommodating, going beyond what we expected. The meditation pool and relaxation program activities were great for easing stress. There's also an adjoining hospital for elective cosmetic procedures, so you can have treatment and recover in nature.
