There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores around, plus a small supermarket, and getting to the city center is convenient. The staff are friendly, and there’s a nice shared area with laundry. It’s very close to the train station and next to the railway, but I didn’t find it noisy. The place feels a bit like student accommodation, which was fine. The bed was comfortable, the room was okay overall, though there was some mold in the bathroom.

The host was very kind and helpful, and checking in on my own was extremely easy. The subway station is nearby, with plenty of useful things around. You can hear trains passing at night, but once the well-sealed windows are shut, the noise is manageable.

When I was studying at the University of Seoul and didn’t get a dorm room, I found Chason M. My boyfriend and I shared a double room for four months. It was small, but clean, nicely decorated, and just right for us. The website photos were completely accurate, which I loved. Everything was easy to follow, from check-in and monthly rent payments to checkout, and we never had problems. If something broke or the drain wasn’t working well, it was fixed within 24 hours, often sooner. The hotel manager made sure we were comfortable. He made our stay so much better: he answered emails quickly, took our questions and problems seriously, and was happy to chat in the lounge. If you’re reading this, thank you again. You’re amazing! I used the lounge a lot during exam season. There’s a shared kitchen, which we barely used, but it was always clean and never felt gross. There were two washing machines, three if you count the staff one, and two dryers, and they almost never gave us trouble. Once I accidentally used a broken machine. As soon as I realized, I told the manager and he fixed it as fast as he could. It was out of order for a week, then repaired. The lounge also always had AC on hot summer days, and it was handy that the manager sat at the front desk each evening. The rooftop was another favorite. You can’t use it at night, but I loved going up there to watch sunsets or hang out with my boyfriend. Our room had a very comfortable bed, AC right above it for summer, and heating for winter. There was a desk, TV, wifi, closets with enough space for both our clothes, and a mini fridge. The window faced Hoegi station, so it could be a little noisy sometimes, but we didn’t mind. I liked hearing the subway at night, and the view was great. The bathroom was small but worked fine, and most importantly, it was clean. Room cleaning once a week was included in the website price. We just had to put our things away; the rest was taken care of. Chason M is right between the University of Seoul and Kyunghee University, and you can get to either in under 15 minutes. Hoegi station is right next door, with convenience stores, bars, PC rooms, a daiso, a grocery store, and lots of restaurants nearby. I’d definitely go back, and I really recommend it for a longer stay in Korea, especially for University of Seoul or Kyunghee University students.

I stayed for a semester while on a foreign exchange program at University of Seoul. The subway is very close, the cleaning service was great, and the staff were extremely kind.

The reception was often unattended. Sheets were dirty when I first entered the room. Rooms are meant to be cleaned weekly, but in practice they were only cleaned if I asked, and even then the trash was emptied while the sheets stayed unchanged.
