The shared microwave disappeared without warning, and staff said it was to save electricity. There’s also no hotel drop-off area, so arriving or leaving by car means navigating a private parking garage and paying to be picked up or dropped off. With two young children, we spent eight nights here and found the stay poor for a Marriott. The rate was competitive, and the hotel is near a train station and central Seoul areas like Yeungdeungpo, Youido and Yongsan, which were the main positives. We’d asked for a higher floor but got level 5, where traffic noise affected our sleep every night. During Seoul’s freezing weather, cold air came through the window and there was even ice around its frame. The shower area also flooded every time we used it, creating a risk for our toddler, so we asked the front desk supervisor to move us. They only offered another room after we insisted. We had a lot of luggage for a long stay and were given 15 minutes to move, with no help. The message was delivered curtly, without much compassion. It felt like they just wanted to pass the defective room on to the next unsuspecting guest. I’d take my money elsewhere. There are plenty of hotels with better facilities and service.

We were upgraded to a higher floor because of my status, and the manager then surprised us with an extra hour before checkout, even though I’d only asked for 10-20 more minutes. The groomers did a great job too, and remembered our room habits, lol. I stayed in room 1753 from the 22nd to the 27th, then added one more night through the 28th because I’d had such a good experience. Decent prices and a great location. It’s busy but not too touristy, so it has more of the local feel I prefer for an authentic Korea experience. Definitely recommend staying at this Marriott.

The room's a little small, but the service is really good. Min at the front desk was so welcoming and helped us with directions when we got lost. His suggestion for authentic, affordable local food across from the hotel was great. The airport bus 6007 stops nearby, so getting here is easy. I’d definitely stay again.

I stayed six pleasant days at Fairfield by Marriott Seoul in Yeongdeungpo. The room was small compared with other Marriotts I’ve used, but it was kept clean, and housekeeping was efficient. They cleaned daily and regularly topped up the water and tea. Everyone on staff was friendly, too. The location made getting around simple, with restaurants, convenience stores, malls, a subway stop and an airport bus stop close by. Million Spoon was convenient and the food there was good. Picking a Seoul hotel can be tricky, especially with mixed reviews for popular places like Myeongdong, but this one seemed among the more decent options across several platforms and met expectations. I was happy with the stay.

The hotel’s location made it easy to get around. A large mall, shops, restaurants and public transport are all close, including subway, buses and airport limousines. Check-in and checkout were smooth, and the Christmas decorations made things feel festive. There are vending machines downstairs with extra amenities. The gym and restaurant are on site, though we didn’t try either. Staff at reception and the cleaners were friendly, and the hotel was tidy throughout. Our room had a safe, hairdryer and iron, plus a roomy wardrobe, robes and slippers. The big smart TV had YouTube, Netflix and other streaming options, and the air conditioning worked well. Large windows gave us nice Seoul views and let in fresh air. The bed was big and comfortable, with four pillows, and the room was quiet. There was a large mini fridge stocked with water. The bathroom had a large mirror, plenty of towels, tissues and cups, and the usual soap, body wash and shampoo. The shower pressure was strong and we liked the rainfall head. Having the toilet in a separate area was a nice touch. Still, the room felt small, and privacy was a bit awkward with the bathroom divided from it by frosted glass and sliding wooden doors. Some towels looked old and worn, which surprised us at a Marriott. We had a good stay and appreciated the useful touches.
