Hoegi Chess

The price is very reasonable, the subway station is easy to get to, and the host is friendly.

A really good place.

The room was small but had what I needed: a tub, air conditioning, TV, computer, and a firm bed with an electric mattress. My back stopped hurting by the second day. The hosts were very welcoming, and check-in was straightforward. We showed our passports, got the keys, and weren’t given a hard time or asked unnecessary questions. The location is handy, especially if you’re visiting Kyunghee University Hospital with someone receiving treatment. There’s a grocery shop about 10 meters away, plus a food market and cafe across the street. A bus stop is close by, and Hoegy subway station is a little farther on. They cleaned daily and topped up the juice jars and instant coffee. The computer runs in Korean and resets to its default state after rebooting, so we installed Yandex and left it on. For this area, it’s one of the most affordable hotels.

Being near Kyunghee University is a real plus. The facilities, though, are pretty dated.
