Hotel Forestar

The room looked OK, but the toilet drains slowly and I don’t like that.

There’s no individual control for the heating, and the wall thermostat doesn’t work. The listed check-in time is 10 PM, not 3 PM, and this place is set up for large rooms. The towels are very old, the bathtub plug is worn and lets water leak even when fitted, and the bathroom ceiling is old with peeling paint. There are F-Killer bottles in the rooms because there are lots of bugs, which makes me think guests are expected to deal with them themselves. Also, a Korean woman with heavy eyeliner at the front desk on the hotel’s first floor speaks informally to guests.

The bathroom was disappointing, with a drain that smelled, an old torn towel, a slow sink, and a creaky door that seemed to have poor soundproofing. The exterior had given me a better impression.

The rooms are quite clean and the facilities are good. It’s a nice place for a casual getaway, and weekday rates are reasonable. Staff service can feel restrictive because of the hotel rules, though. You get what you pay for, so maybe expecting more is asking too much. I couldn’t take photos right at check-in, so I’ve added a few I managed to take later of room 1003.
