Mokdong Ado Hotel

Great.

The hotel is a good value if you're after reasonably priced, comfortable accommodation near the subway and local area. Room layouts differ, but I had enough space. There’s no elevator, which could make things hard for older guests, and housekeeping, amenities, and other help are available if requested. Getting around by transit is convenient, and the reception staff were great about feedback. The shops nearby are handy too. For popular attractions, expect some travel time. From Xinting Station on Metro Line 5, Exit 1, though, it’s only about 10 seconds to the hotel!

It looks good in the online pictures, but the actual place felt dirty, old, and lacking in quality. Finding little crumbs left by previous guests in the mini-fridge was especially disappointing. At least the subway exit is only a three-second walk from the hotel. 😣

The rooftop room, number 401, looked pretty in the photos, but I couldn't relax there. Even when I wasn't moving much, something kept fluttering right in front of my eyes. The bathrobes and floor carpet were seriously unhygienic, and there are no razors among the amenities. I never opened the outside door, but mosquitoes kept appearing all night. I caught five before morning and two more in the morning, seven in total, and couldn't sleep while chasing them. Maybe there's a draft somewhere, because they kept coming no matter how many I killed. There were also several ants crawling on the floor in front of the toilet. They were easy to see, yet nothing seemed to be done about them.
