Namu Hotel

I booked the One Terrace room, with its small terrace. The open bathtub looked luxurious, but having all the faucets visible made me a little uneasy while taking a half-bath. I liked how the room combined half heating and half flooring, which made it feel less dry. The hotel has a calm mood and there’s clear attention to detail throughout. I was satisfied, though the air conditioner and heater were somewhat noisy at night. Parking was convenient, and I highly recommend the hotel.

After work, I came here for a staycation, and the quiet atmosphere and wood tones helped me feel calm and settled. There was a woody scent as soon as I entered the room, which I liked. The layout worked well for me too: the bed, bathtub, toilet, and shower are all in one space, but separated by floors, walls, and doors. I’d recommend it if you want a relaxing hotel staycation.

I’d come back for a chance to relax in the city. My voucher covered breakfast at a nearby craft burger restaurant, which was nice, although the bathroom and shower had a persistent musty smell, perhaps from poor drainage. Namu Hotel is on a road in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It’s about a 5 minute walk from Guui Station, which serves Subway Lines 2 and 7, so transit is convenient. Reviews praise the friendly, professional staff, clean rooms with necessary amenities, and complimentary breakfast. The rooms can feel cramped because they’re relatively small. The building is 10 years old and its facilities are aging. Since it’s close to the road, sound insulation isn’t great and road noise can sometimes be heard. Overall, guests are pleased with the cleanliness and staff, though the room size and occasional traffic noise are drawbacks.

The rooms felt roomier than standard business-class rooms, and I liked having a veranda. It was a relaxing place to stay. The interior was decent for the location, and the exterior looked surprisingly sophisticated. From the first impression, I sensed a strong connection between the architect and hotel owner in the interior design, with a lot of impact achieved at minimal cost.
