Yeongdeungpo Station New York Hotel

In November 2024, I paid 247€ on Agoda for six nights. The room worked fine for sleeping and showering, and I didn't find it dirty. Nearby there are lots of bars, cafes, places to eat, a minimarket, and a metro station. The bars get busy with people drinking at night, but I still slept okay. One thing did scare me: someone tried my door late at night. It was locked, so maybe they were drunk and couldn't find their own room.

I should've listened to the bad Google reviews. The place was a nightmare. It's a love motel, which wouldn't bother me if it were clean, but it really wasn't. There were stains on the lampshade, walls, and bedding. A plastic sheet under the fabric one felt gross, so I slept on top of the duvet, and mosquitoes bit me constantly. The locked mirror in the shower itself, not just in the bathroom, made me uneasy. The hotel is far from central and the area seemed a bit shady. My friend had a different room and it was just as horrible. And yes, that's bubble wrap on the window. I wouldn't recommend staying here. It needs a lot of work to reach a decent standard.

The rooms are cramped and dirty, though the location is good. I'd only book if it were on sale, and wouldn't stay more than three days. Move the furniture and you'll find dust behind it. It's noisy too, since it's next to a construction site.

It was decent and quiet, though I'm not sure about the glass bathroom window. If one person gets up late at night, the light can wake their partner.
