The room was a decent size, stylish, clean, and nice. It seemed designed for couples, since the tub was out in the open. The toilet was behind frosted glass, so you could see a shadow when someone used it, and the glass didn’t block sound either... use your imagination. The front desk staff struggled with English but were accommodating and tried hard to help. I had a pleasant weeklong stay, though there were a few issues: the tub shifted around instead of being set into the floor, and on two of our seven days we got only small towels, maybe because they’d run out, but I’m not sure. Also, a group in the neighboring room sounded very drunk or very high, screaming around midnight.

boutique hotel XYM feels like a small Japanese business hotel. I paid about ￦70,000 a night, which didn’t seem reasonable. The room had a modern design, and you could buy beer and snacks in the lobby. Free Netflix was available, and access from Police hospital station was good. On the downside, the room and toilet were too small, as were the pillow and elevator. There was a tower car park system, and controlling the water temperature was difficult.

For the price, this place is great. The rooms are small, but they’re tidy and clean, and the service is really good. It’s well situated, with several subway stations close by. Good value.

The room had two double beds listed, but they were actually single beds, so two people couldn’t sleep in them. From the bed you can see the showering person’s silhouette, and the guest service felt motel-level. I paid cash over the phone to make the reservation, then went on a family trip to Seoul. When I asked about poor soundproofing between rooms, they told me to just put up with it lol. The hotel is on the outskirts of Seoul, in an area that feels like a typical neighborhood in the provinces.
