They were really accommodating. My booked room was too small for my luggage, so they upgraded me to a room with a private bathroom at no extra cost. The hostel-style place is very clean, with a shared area where you can cook, get coffee and pick up fresh towels. It's handy for lots of services, only a five-minute walk from the train station, and there are plenty of things to do within walking distance.

I booked a four-night stay through a hosting platform at a reasonable price, similar to other places nearby. The listing photos gave a misleading impression. They call it a private room with shared spaces, which is technically accurate, but this “room” is more like a garage right on the street. Opening its door takes you straight outside, not into the house or a common area, so strangers can walk past and knock. As a woman traveling alone, I was very concerned about safety. I don't feel this setup is completely safe for a solo female traveler. I'd read the reviews before booking. The negative ones were from 7-11 years ago, while recent reviews were all four or five stars, so I decided to try it. Having to go up to the second floor for the shower and toilet, as some reviews mentioned, would have been inconvenient but not a big problem for me. What I couldn't accept was having to step outside at 3:00am, where drunk people from the bars or restaurants opposite could see me coming and going. I worried someone with bad intentions might wait outside and force their way in. I was stunned when they first showed me the room, but gave it a try for one night. I couldn't sleep because I woke whenever someone walked past, afraid that drunk or ill-intentioned people might break in. I asked to change rooms, but the hosts said none were available for the rest of my four-night stay. I left for somewhere else the next day. I reported the safety concern to the hosting platform. They tried to contact the hosts but told me they got no response. I'm not sure whether the hosts ever replied later. I'm giving this place one star because the listing doesn't accurately convey what this room is, the hosts didn't address my request to move, and they didn't respond to the platform about my concerns. I checked both the hosting platform and Google reviews before booking. I don't doubt that some people think the accommodation deserves five stars for its price and location, but I haven't seen anyone mention this safety issue. Places have pros and cons, and I rarely leave a negative review, but with so many five-star ratings, I wanted to give honest feedback so people can make an informed choice. Please check which room I'm talking about against the listing wherever you found the place. The other rooms are inside the house, so they seem safe. I don't know their condition and can't comment on them.

The area is good for tourists, and the staff are awesome with perfect English. I had a great time and would come back, but the room was awful. Don't book the single-person room.

The location is handy for Hongdae and Yeonnamdong, but the apartment had a lot of problems. The shower curtain was moldy, paint was peeling, and the walls were dirty. The balcony chairs were torn and mildewed, and the outdoor steps to the apartment were just wooden planks. There was no one at the front desk. The emergency line only took calls from 10am to 9pm, and nobody replied to my message in the app.
