Union Hotel

The gym is excellent, with lots of space and different machines. I also liked how close the hotel is to the subway and bus stop, with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby. Staff were polite and spoke both Korean and English. The hotel was modern and clean, and the on-site laundry took credit cards. There was just one washer and dryer, though they had a large capacity. Our room's mini-split had black mildew on it, which seemed unhealthy, and it clicked and rattled annoyingly. The units need better cleaning and maintenance. The shower was missing its door, and peeling caulk let water leak near the toilet. The rooms could use better upkeep.

The location was good, and the housekeepers were nice. The laundry area has one card-accepting washer and dryer, plus detergent and dryer sheets. I'd suggest going early in the morning since there's only one of each. Towels also cost extra, which was disappointing. The three male staff at the 14th-floor reception were extremely kind and helpful, but the women working during the day came across as very unfriendly. There was mildew on the air-conditioning vents in both the hall and our room. They fixed it quickly after I mentioned it, but it would be good to see the vents maintained.

The cafe downstairs was a nice bonus, with good pastries and coffee. Having a seat facing the street made breakfast really relaxing. The room was clean, the location was great, and self check-in was quick and easy.

The hotel staff were kind, and they refunded me for two of my three nights. The beds felt hard as rocks, which wasn't advertised. It would've been an amazing hotel if the beds were softer or I didn't have my disability.
