Marinabay Sokcho

There’s a lot within walking distance: the beach, lake, parks, restaurants, eMart, Daiso, the Express Bus Terminal, and a Megabox movie theater. The hotel was mostly quiet and peaceful, and I’d consider coming back. My one concern was the pool’s condition. With so many people paying to use it, I thought it needed better cleaning. A good pressure wash and some way to prevent mildew would help.

They wouldn’t let me swim when it was 23 degrees Celsius, even though the pool was full. I feel they treated me this way because I’m Chinese. I won’t be coming back.

The bed in our room leaned a little to one side, probably from guests sitting on its edge instead of the couch. It was still comfortable, though. The room wasn't especially spacious, but it had a washing machine and a pull-out hanging rack built into the cupboards. Tea and coffee basics were there, along with an electric cooktop, but oddly no pans, plates, or cutlery. Marinabay Sokcho is handy for getting around Sokcho, with the lake bike trails, the old village of ABAI, and eMart all nearby. There are lots of rooms in the hotel.

I loved waking up to the calm ocean view, with plenty of daylight coming in through the large windows. Sokcho Beach is only a short walk away, and there are different activities nearby. The rooms at Marinabay Sokcho felt spacious and were elegantly designed and well kept. Modern amenities and comfortable furnishings made the room feel cozy and luxurious. The hotel’s setting, with views of the East Sea and surrounding mountains, made it a lovely place to unwind and enjoy nature.
