Baguni hostel

The guest coin system came in handy for breakfast, laundry and the dryer, or buying miscellaneous items. I used mine for breakfast each day and for laundry and drying, then paid cash once the complimentary coins ran out. Baguni Hostel in Suncheon deserves a shout-out. The interior was clearly planned around guests’ comfort, with each room serving a purpose, and it’s one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. There’s also a cafe/pub on the first floor. I’d wanted to visit Suncheon for a long time, and I wasn’t disappointed.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready when you needed them. The showers are great, with a changing room, and there are common areas to relax in. Beds are comfortable and you get privacy in the room. On arrival, they give you 10 tokens to trade for breakfast or other goods if you like. I’ve traveled around the world, and this is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, thoughtfully designed with plenty of details for guest comfort. If you’re visiting Suncheon, this is the place. It’s a five-minute walk from the train station. 👌

Our room had a spacious, modern industrial look and its own private bathroom. There was a shared kitchen on the floor with the private rooms. Downstairs, the cafe/bar is a nice spot for breakfast and coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. The hostel sits by the river, with cafes and a brewery around the corner and a night market across the bridge. Bus stops are all around, making it easy to get around town. For instance, bus 66 stops nearby and goes straight to the famous wetlands. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. Highly recommend.

Stayed in May 2019. The industrial style is really cool, and the rooms and kitchen area are nice, with a small terrace too. You get a few coins per night to spend on laundry, food or beer, and amenities, and it’s connected to a cafe/bar. They speak good English and are always willing to help or make recommendations. Cards are accepted, and the bus system can take you to all the sites.
