Hotel Joy

Parking was easy, and because the building stands apart, there was very little noise during my stay. For the price, this is one of the better motels in Yeongtong. The place is comfortable, though the building is old and has a dated feel. A lingering cigarette odor made it less pleasant.

There's plenty of room to park, but the inside feels very dated, like the facilities are from the 2000s. They even have a VCR, and the cigarette smell is strong.

The old facilities and heavy cigarette smell in the room weren't pleasant. I did like being able to operate everything in the room with one remote, though.

There are lots of places to eat and shop nearby, so the location worked well. I was in South Korea for a business trip, and the local staff booked this place for me. Motels like this are apparently a common choice for solo business travelers there. It's a pretty standard motel, with a roomy bed and bathroom, but the windows are just decoration: no daylight gets in, and the smoke smell is strong. On my way to work in the morning, sharing the elevator with a couple walking arm in arm felt a little awkward. It was a learning experience.
