Ulsan Paradise Pension

The charcoal grilled meat was delicious, and I got a nice chance to rest. I stopped here on the way to Gyeongju because I wanted a day off. It was peaceful, and the valley should be great for cooling off in summer. The water was ice cold, though, and evenings still felt a bit chilly.

We even had time for a foot volleyball game with a little wager, and the kids enjoyed the playground. The place is right by the valley, so it’s easy to get in the water, though just listening to the stream is relaxing too. Clean facilities and well-kept bedding made for a restful stay. A nice spot for family or friends, and we left very satisfied.

Room 202 in the new building was comfortable and very clean inside, with what looked like a recent renovation, especially the new bathroom tiles. The building itself seemed old. We liked having the valley on the grounds and a CU within walking distance. One catch with the duplex layout is that the AC is downstairs and doesn’t cool the upper level, so summer use up there could be tough. We gave up on it and slept downstairs together on blankets. The terrace and barbecue area were roomy, and the owner was so friendly that I’ll remember it. Wishing them well.

The view and location are lovely, and it’s nice being near the valley with a terrace too. Make sure to check whether you’re booking the new or old building, since they’re separate. The balconies all face the same way, and the cracked floors mean water spilled above can run down onto everyone below. I also found mold inside the air conditioner, even though the area around it was clean, which made the room uncomfortable.
