Paulownia Hostel & Guest House

At 9 pm, I was left without a place to stay in a foreign country. When I arrived, I learned the room I'd booked was male-only, something that hadn't been disclosed while booking. As a female traveler, I was turned away and given no alternative. The receptionist said the reservation would be canceled and refunded because the hotel couldn't accommodate me. Later, though, my refund request was refused under the cancellation policy. I found that completely unacceptable. Being sent away so late with no help or solution was distressing and felt dangerous. The hotel's policies also struck me as lacking transparency and inclusivity, and discriminatory. I strongly advise female travelers against booking here. The experience was intolerable, and the refusal to follow through on the promised cancellation and refund was beyond unacceptable.
