Plaza Athenee Hotel Kuwait

The staff were so kind and helpful that I felt genuinely welcome. My room was clean, furnished, and comfortable, and the price worked for me since I mostly needed somewhere to shower and sleep between exploring the city. The Kuwait Towers are about a 25-minute walk away, and Assima Shopping Mall is walkable too. There’s a hypermarket nearby, although I found the immediate neighborhood a bit unattractive. I missed having a kettle and tea or coffee set, but they brought water bottles when I asked. Getting in touch before arrival was frustrating. I messaged through Agoda and emailed the address listed there, with no reply either time. I found another email by googling the hotel and got no response there either. Eventually I tried two mobile numbers, and one was on WhatsApp, where I finally heard back. Even with that communication issue, I had a very pleasant stay and recommend the hotel for what I needed.

There was no restaurant or breakfast available, and the room barely had any facilities, not even a clothes hanger. The toilet light didn’t work, and management controlled the room temperature from outside the room. When the electricity went out for half a day, there was no generator, so we had to use the outdoor staircase for 12 floors. The staff didn’t seem trained for hotel work.

Booking for my team was a terrible experience. The process kept getting delayed, and they changed the rate several times despite knowing we’d been customers for a long time. They wasted my time, and this was the worst service I’ve received. I won’t recommend the hotel.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the hotel felt new and was beautifully maintained, and the price was great. Its location was convenient for getting around while still being peaceful. The staff were warm, helpful, and professional, and it’s clear management takes pride in the service. I’d highly recommend it for a comfortable stay.
