The quiet atmosphere suited us, and NOVA’s staff were great; we enjoyed the food, though it was expensive. The room’s air conditioning worked well, the bed was reasonably comfortable, and the bathroom hair and body products were a nice touch. But the room was very basic, with no chair, and what we booked as a king bed was two twin mattresses pushed together. We also saw what looked like mold at the bottom of the shower, and its head leaked. A microwave would have given us another option besides eating at NOVA. The Smart TV was useful, but without local live channels we had to sign into our own Prime or Netflix accounts. We’d have brought a firestick if we’d known. We stayed a week, and having to request housekeeping and pay extra for it was a surprise. Cleaning rooms only every seven days seems ridiculous in a tropical climate. Our ground-floor window faced the rear parking lot, with people coming and going, so we kept the curtains shut. The reception office was rarely staffed during the posted hours, something other guests noticed too. On checkout morning, my husband saw Post-its on the counter with room numbers and door PIN codes, but nobody was there. A designated smoking spot would have been welcome too, especially for guests who like a cigar on a tropical vacation. You really need a car here unless you’re happy eating at NOVA every day. We might have enjoyed the stay more in a larger room with a balcony or private outdoor seating, as we’ve had in other tropical countries. The website didn’t give a true sense of what all the rooms were like. Maybe we’d recommend the resort if it made a lot of changes, but after this experience we won’t be back.

We spent our days exploring, then came back for dinner by the water as the sun went down and the stars came out. The food was so good, and lived up to the great reviews, that we ate there all three nights. We loved the pool and hot tub, and having a private top-floor room made the stay even nicer. The resort felt wonderfully peaceful, tucked away from the busy tourist areas. Staff were truly top-notch and very friendly. We’d definitely come back.

The location is pretty isolated, far from everything, and not much around there is walkable. The beach is rocky and the ocean isn’t calm, so it’s not really somewhere you’d go in for a swim. Still, Cobalt Coast is lovely, modern, and newly updated, and our room was very clean. Nobody came in to clean, make the bed, or replace towels during our four days. We had a good dinner at Nova one night. If you want a secluded place and don’t plan to leave the hotel, it could work. For activities and a nicer beach, I’d stay at 7 mile beach.

Cobalt Coast’s on-site dive shop was why we booked, and it worked out very well. The outdoor areas were lovely and never felt crowded, and the rooms were comfortable. Food and drinks at the restaurant and bar were very good, and service was quick. Staff responded promptly to WhatsApp requests, though we heard other guests complain they needed things and didn’t know about that contact. I gave service four stars because there weren’t hotel staff on site every day, and room cleaning costs extra. The biggest headache was how much taxis cost for dinner trips or shopping.

Quiet, clean, and a great value. We had our best vacation at Cobalt Coast Grand Cayman Resort, thanks in large part to the staff, who went above and beyond for us.
