Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa

I stayed for four lovely days at the end of Feb 2026, and the Westin exceeded my expectations. The resort mostly faces west, so the sunsets each night are postcard-worthy. I ate at most of the restaurants on site and enjoyed every one. The beach is gorgeous. I rented a cabana one day and an ocean-front pod another, and the staff were readily available and made sure I was well looked after.

The crowds and noise made this a poor fit for the relaxing wedding anniversary we wanted. On the weekend it sometimes felt like a beach party in Cancun. There were loads of unsupervised kids running around, and people who weren’t hotel guests using our prime stretch of beach and the amenities. Having to get up at 5am to claim beach chairs is a real problem. I enjoyed the visit in some ways, but I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful break. Seven mile beach is beautiful, and I’ll come back to the area, but next time I’ll rent a nearby condo.

The kids loved the beach, the sea, and the activities. We spent two weeks here in January, and they’ll go down as two of the most relaxing weeks of our lives. It’s a beautiful, small resort, and some of the staff are exceptional. Omar (beach) and Latisha (unsure of spelling but she does the kids games etc) were so lovely. We had good food and drinks, met lovely people, and a few staff members went above and beyond to be friendly.

The beach is great and the rooms are spacious, but the property doesn’t have enough room for all its guests. Finding a seat at either the beach or pool is difficult. People put their stuff on chairs early and then disappear for hours. By 8:30-9AM, rows of empty chairs were already marked with people’s belongings, leaving nowhere to sit. The sign says unattended items will be removed after 90 minutes, but that doesn’t happen. The pool area is nice, though small, and the water is very cold. Staff didn’t go above and beyond the way I’ve seen at other Marriott-branded resorts. There’s an 18% gratuity on everything, so staff have no incentive to give outstanding service. I booked with points, thankfully. I’d have been extremely disappointed paying $2K+/night. The property is nice, but I’d only recommend it on points or at a deeply discounted rate.
