Grand Hotel Kazybek Bi

For a night or two, the place is manageable, but I wouldn’t choose it for a longer visit. The rooms are so small that opening two suitcases at once is difficult, and cleanliness was just average, neither terrible nor especially good. The neighborhood is quiet, though it feels deserted and there’s almost nothing around. The price is the biggest issue: it’s extremely expensive for Kazakhstan, closer to Swiss prices, and poor value. I’d strongly suggest looking at Airbnbs before booking a hotel here. That’s why I can only give it two stars.

We spent a week here, and booking this hotel turned out to be one of our best decisions. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. Our room was spacious, clean, and modern. Most of the city's attractions, including Artbat street, are within walking distance. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Almaty!

A lovely little hotel in a quiet spot right in the city center. The staff were very helpful, the rooms were clean, and breakfast was really good. Two large parks are an easy walk away. Highly recommend.

Being able to arrange early check-in or late checkout for a moderate fee was especially useful, and I wish more hotels offered it. The hotel itself is modern and comfortable, in a good central Almaty location. Breakfast was good, though I’d have liked more fruit.
