The rooms at ERA Hotel were clean and nicely designed, with modern renovations. The beds were very comfortable, and the showers were great. There was everything I needed for a pleasant stay in Almaty. A few things made the stay harder. None of the staff spoke English, so if you don’t speak Kazakh or Russian, communicating can be stressful. Google Translate helped, but that’s not ideal on vacation. There are no in-room safes, and reception can’t store valuables either. The hotel also asks for full payment at check-in, which caught me off guard since I’m used to paying at checkout after giving a card guarantee. I’d recommend it if you’re prepared for those points and are comfortable finding another way to keep valuables secure.

The room and bathroom were both very clean and neat. This was the only place I stayed on my Almaty trip that I was satisfied with. The staff member didn’t speak English, but she was willing to use a translation app to communicate. It’s some distance from the city’s main attractions, though.

The location and the receptionist, Ali, were the only good parts for me. Otherwise, I didn’t like the hotel. If you’re not Russian or Kazakh, you may feel unwelcome there.

The room wasn’t big, but it was VERY CLEAN. The staff were friendly and really helpful. It’s a new hotel in a convenient location. Wishing this place luck and lots of guests 🌺
