Feb2025: The hotel team were lovely and helpful, and my room was spacious and clean. The sink is outside the toilet and shower because the bathroom is so small. It wasn't very convenient, but workable. The hotel is in a quiet spot outside the city, on the road to the Shymbulak ski slopes.

We're still trying to get a refund. The room wasn't the size advertised, had insects, and the mattresses were basically nonexistent. The stairs were impossible with luggage, the walls were paper thin and you could hear everything from the other rooms, and the toilet seemed unfinished. The Wi-Fi didn't work either. For the price, you'd at least expect a mattress. This felt like a total scam. Do NOT fall for it.

The owners were sweet, and breakfast was great!

Our new loft apartment was spotless, with garden views toward the mountains. The guest house is in a really quiet part of Almaty, and the host was very friendly. They served a tasty Kazakh breakfast on the garden veranda.
10/10
We slept in the garden yurt, which was really spacious and comfortable. With its high ceiling, I felt as though I were floating upward while lying there. The mattress was firm and the sheets clean. There was plenty of hot water in the shower in a separate building, and breakfast was lovely, home-style cooking.
