The restaurant, breakfast and service were excellent, and the view from the restaurant at breakfast is amazing. The rooms are huge too. But the hotel feels like the In Jan symbol: appealing outside, cold and off-putting inside. The halls and corridors seem designed as a Taj Mahal copy, not for people to live in. Reception needs training in how to serve guests. We asked in the evening to have our clothes washed and were told laundry was closed and to bring them in the morning. The next day, the clothes hadn't been delivered to our room or reception, and the laundry was out of business. We also couldn't add the taxi fare to the room bill.

It’s in a good location, but the hotel feels very dated. The beds are especially hard and uncomfortable. The staff didn’t speak much English, and I didn’t find them particularly helpful or kind.

I only tried the swimming pool, and it’s a good place for beginners to learn. It’s shallow, at 1.5 meters, and the water is warm. The changing rooms, lockers and showers are comfortable too.

The equipment is outdated, and the air conditioning only blew hot air even after the technician tried hard to fix it. The hotel manager gave great support with my needs. Such a pity.

The office side is operating well. I visited the Pakistani Embassy there yesterday. The hotel itself is basically good, and I hope it will keep hosting the many people coming to Astana in 2021.
