Reikartz Astana Hotel

The location is good, but I don't know who gave this hotel 4 stars. The walls are very thin with no sound insulation, and you can hear the karaoke bar until morning. The bathroom smells bad, and the breakfast selection needs improvement.

I paid almost twice as much for an upgrade after being told my original room had no windows or air conditioning. Only after charging me did the front desk say the AC wasn't working. The sheets were dirty, with hair and spots on them, so I had to call to get them changed. Then the lights stopped working, and nobody answered the phone when I tried to reach the desk. They couldn't provide basic things guests need, and no one apologized or offered a solution. I wouldn't come back. Stay away.

The room was spacious and clean, and breakfast had something for every taste. We also enjoyed the restaurant's varied menu, especially the well-prepared national dishes. The service made us very happy, and the transfer was arranged smoothly. We booked two months ahead while abroad, and the price was reasonable. I've recommended the place to fellow countrymen traveling through.

The breakfast situation was frustrating: there was nothing left the next morning, and just ten minutes before closing they told me I could grab something from the line. Thirty seconds later, a staff member was clearing it all away. Arrive that close to closing and you'll see nothing. The internet was so poor, around 5 MB per second, that I had to go to a coworking space for a video meeting. Noise was just as bad: music from what seemed to be a restaurant went on until 2 a.m. on Sunday, and I could hear hallway and next-door conversations in detail. The window looked onto an air conditioner that ran nonstop, and couldn't be opened. After one day, all I could think was how to get through two more nights. I don't understand how Reikartz can be this terrible.
